Dear Friend of the UT System, I hope you are enjoying a wonderful holiday season. This time of year, it’s hard to keep business in the forefront. But, here at The University of Texas System, that’s exactly what we are doing. With this newsletter, we have attached two related stories, one regarding our work to improve graduation rates System-wide and another about how tuition-setting authority is enhancing the services and facilities available to our students.  The relationship between these stories is straightforward; the greater flexibility afforded to the campuses as a result of setting tuition to meet local needs allows System institutions to develop initiatives that funnel more resources into ensuring higher graduation rates. Tuition dollars are always at work but we think it is particularly important to let our students and their families know how recent increases in tuition enhance the educational experience and the value of their degrees. On behalf of all of us at the UT System, I want to wish you and your families the best for the season and the new year. And as always, we thank you for your continuing interest in the System.
